Contest Rules and Regulations

Organizer and Eligibility

The REPAIR CHALLENGE 2026, organized by WD-40 Company's Marketing Distributor in Philippines, Herco Trading Inc. [“the Organizer”], is an online video contest that does not require any purchase for participation (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest”). The Contest runs from August 21, 2026  until October 21, 2026, as shown on https://repairchallengeph.wd40.asia/, and is open to all residents of the Philippines aged 18 years and above as of August 21, 2026 [each “Participant”, and collectively, the “Participants”].  Participants may submit eligible entries in accordance with these Terms & Conditions for a chance to be selected as a winner based on the applicable judging criteria.

1. The following persons are not eligible to participate in the Contest:

a) Employees of the Organizer and their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity; and

b)  Employees of promoters and advertising agencies and their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity.

1. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse, exclude, and / or disqualify any Participant who does not meet the eligibility requirements for participation or who fails to comply with these Terms & Conditions. Any breach of these Terms & Conditions may result in disqualification and the forfeiture of any prize awarded. 

Duration

The Contest will run from August 21, 2026 until October 21, 2026 (11.59pm Philippine Local Time) [“the Contest Period’].

Qualifying Criteria and Submission of Entries

Create a genuine REPAIR CHALLENGE video submission

1. Go to  https://repairchallengeph.wd40.asia/ and complete the registration process through your social media account or via email sign-up. Participants may also submit entries via Facebook Messenger on WD-40 Philippines Facebook https://www.facebook.com/WD40PhilippinesOfficial/.
2. Upload your REPAIR CHALLENGE video entry along with a short description of the Repair or Restoration project featured in the submission.
3. The entry must clearly explain or demonstrate how one or more WD-40 products were used to solve a problem or fix any DIY issues.
4. Participants may earn bonus points by submitting a #WD40Project hashtag that features the use of WD-40® Smart Straw®, WD-40® EZ-Reach®, or any product from the WD-40® Specialist® product range.

 

 

VIDEO CRITERIA:

 

1. The submission MUST prominently feature the 2026 Repair Challenge official logo “ ”

For this purpose, WD-40 Company the grants each Participant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to reproduce and display the official logo solely as provided or approved by WD-40 Company and/or the Organizer and solely as necessary to create and submit an entry for the Contest during the Contest Period. The Participant shall not alter, distort, animate, obscure, combine, or otherwise modify the logo; use it for any commercial, promotional, endorsement, merchandising, or other purpose unrelated to the Contest; register or claim any right in the logo or any confusingly similar mark; or use the logo in any manner that is unlawful, misleading, disparaging, or likely to damage the reputation or goodwill of the Organizer, WD-40 Company, or their related companies. All rights in and to the logo, including all associated goodwill, remain exclusively with WD-40 Company. The licence shall terminate automatically upon the earlier of the Participant’s disqualification, withdrawal, WD-40 Company or the Organizer’s written request, or the end of the Contest, after which the Participant shall promptly cease all use of the logo and, upon request, remove or delete any unauthorised use. WD-40 Company and/or the Organizer may require the correction or removal of any non-compliant use and may disqualify the Participant, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies available to WD-40 Company and/or the Organizer.

 

1. The submission must focus on one or both of the following themes:

1. Repair
2. Restoration

The entry must depict only the accurate and intended use of the featured WD-40® product(s) and must not contain any false, deceptive, misleading, exaggerated, or unsubstantiated product claim or representation.

1. The submission must clearly demonstrate the process of Repair or Restoration, including the problem being addressed, the application of the WD-40® product(s), and the resulting outcome.

 

1. Any jingle, music, sound recording, image, footage or any other material utilized, if any, must be original to the Participant, in the public domain, or used under a valid written licence that permits the Participant to include the material in the entry and grant the rights contemplated by these Terms & Conditions to the Organizer, WD-40 Company, and their related companies. By submitting an entry, the Participant represents and warrants that the entry does not infringe any copyright or other third-party right; that the Participant owns or has secured all necessary rights, licences, consents, and releases; and that the Participant has full authority to grant or transfer the rights in the entry as provided in these Terms & Conditions.

 

1. The video should have a minimum resolution of Standard Definition (640 x 480 pixels). A High Definition (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution is preferred. The video must have a minimum running time of 45 seconds.

 

1. The entry produced must be created by the Participant for the problem area(s) in Repair and Restoration project and must not be copied, misappropriated, or falsely presented as the Participant’s work. An entry may include incidental third-party material only if the material is in the public domain or the Participant has obtained a valid written licence, consent, or permission sufficient to include the material in the entry and to grant the rights contemplated under these Terms & Conditions.

 

1. The entry must clearly deliver and communicate the problem area(s) in the Repair or Restoration of equipment, gadget or other object featured by the participant. Where applicable, the video should include a narration or explanation by participant.

 

1. The entry must not contain any third-party or competing brand names, logos, trademarks or other branding elements that appear to be included for the purpose of promoting or endorsing such brand(s).

 

1. The video will not be accepted if it:

1. Uses photo montages or images that do not depict actual or real situations, including stock images, copied images, or other non-original visual content that are unlicensed or used in a misleading manner.
2. Contains content that is sexual, abusive, discriminatory, racist, violent, promotes illegal activities or depicts the illegal use of prohibited substances.
3. Is not in line with WD-40 objectives in general or depicts the product being used in a manner contrary to its intended purposes, such as representing WD-40 products as engine oil or otherwise misusing the products.
4. Infringes or is reasonably suspected of infringing any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, image, or other third-party right, or includes any person or third-party material without all necessary written licences, consents, permissions, and releases.
5. Depicts or encourages any unsafe, reckless, hazardous, or unlawful act, any use contrary to the applicable product label or instructions, or any situation that may endanger a person, animal, property, health, or physical integrity.
6. Contains any false, deceptive, misleading, exaggerated, or unsubstantiated statement, demonstration, comparison, testimonial, or claim concerning any product, its performance, benefits, safety, or intended use.
7. Misuses, alters, obscures, or inaccurately reproduces the official Contest logo or any WD-40® name, mark, packaging, trade dress, or other brand asset, or suggests an unauthorised endorsement, sponsorship, or association.
8. Fails to satisfy any eligibility, submission, authenticity, theme, format, resolution, duration, logo-display, or other technical requirement specified in these Terms & Conditions.
9. Is incomplete, corrupted, inaccessible, submitted outside the Contest Period, generated or manipulated in a manner that misrepresents an actual Repair or Restoration project, or is connected with fraud, impersonation, tampering, automated submission, or any attempt to circumvent these Terms & Conditions.

 

1. Each Participant may submit more than one [1] entry. Each submitted entry shall be eligible to win a prize.

 

1. Each submission may be attributed one [1] Participant only. For purposes of enforcing this limitation, entries bearing the same name (including the same first and last name), email address, or contact number shall be considered as having been submitted by the same Participant.

 

1. The Organizer reserves the right to verify that each winner participated in the Contest in accordance with these Terms & Conditions. Any entry found to be non-compliant with these rules may result in the disqualification of the Participant and the forfeiture or cancellation of any prize awarded.
2. Participation in the Contest constitutes the Participant’s full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. Failure to comply with said rules will result in the disqualification of the Participant and the forfeiture of any prize that may have been awarded.

 

1. The Organizer shall not be liable for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay, failure of operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to, or alteration of any Participant communications, or for any technical malfunction, system failure, network congestion, or other issues affecting internet and / or telecommunication services that may interfere with participation in the Contest.

 

1. The deadline for the submission of entries is on October 21, 2026, at 11:59pm Philippine Local Time.

 

1. The winners shall be selected based on the following criteria: (as per below)

1. The judging, selection, and determination of the winners shall take place on October 30, 2026, in the presence of a representative from the Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) as official witness. The results of the judging shall be final and binding on all Participants.

 

1. Winners of each prize category will be announced on November 15, 2026, at the WD-40 Philippines Facebook Page [https://www.facebook.com/WD40PhilippinesOfficial/].

Contest Announcement and Communication Support

This Contest is accessible through the website  https://repairchallengeph.wd40.asia/ (the “Site”). This Contest is advertised through various channels, including product packaging and point-of-sale materials for WD-40 products available at participating retail outlets throughout the Philippines, online through the Site, and via digital advertising on platforms such as Google, Facebook, and Instagram.

Prizes & Winners Selection Process

1. A total of twenty-three (23) prizes will be awarded during the Contest, consisting of the following:
1. One (1) Grand Prize: USD$2,500, to be awarded to the Participant with the highest overall score;
2. One (1) 2nd Prize: USD$1,500, to be awarded to the Participant with the second-highest overall score;
3. One (1) 3rd Prize: USD$1,000, to be awarded to the Participant with the third-highest overall score; and
4. Twenty (20) WD-40 GIFT PACKS, to be awarded to the first twenty Participants whose eligible video submissions are accepted by the Organizer.

The selection of winners shall be based on valid entries that satisfy the eligibility requirements, comply with these Terms & Conditions, and are duly accepted by the Organizer. All qualified entries shall be evaluated in accordance with the applicable judging criteria.

 

1. Each Participant may win a maximum of two (2) prizes throughout the Contest Period. For example, a Participant may receive a prize for being among the first twenty (20) Participants to submit an eligible video submission and may also be awarded the Grand Prize, Second Prize, or Third Prize. In the event a Participant qualifies for more than two (2) prizes, the Organizer reserves the right to award the additional prize(s) to the next eligible Participant.

 

1. All prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.

 

1. To claim a prize, winners must comply with the Organizer’s verification requirements and present the necessary documents, which may include a valid government ID, authorization letter and valid government ID of authorized representative (if applicable).

The value of cash prizes shall be determined based on the applicable foreign exchange rate at the time the prize is awarded.

 

1. Any applicable taxes, including the prize tax, shall be borne solely by the winner.

Liability and Responsibility

1. All Winners will be notified via the email address provided in their Contest registration. The Organizer shall not be held liable for any non-receipt, delayed receipt, misdelivery or failure of delivery of any winner notification due to technical issues, incorrect contact information, or circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control. Winners must abide by the terms and conditions of the party[ies] arranging all the Prizes, if any. The list of winners will be published on the Organizer’s Facebook Page at [https://www.facebook.com/WD40PhilippinesOfficial/].
2. By participating in the Contest, Participants agree to assume full responsibility for any and all risks arising from or in connection with their participation in the Contest, attendance at any related event, and the acceptance, redemption, possession, or use of any prize. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Participants and winners, including their heirs, successors, and assigns, release and hold harmless the Organizer, its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, injuries, accidents, costs, or expenses, including those resulting in death or personal injury, arising from or related to the Contest or the prizes awarded.

 

1. All transportation, accommodation, connection, personal costs and / or any other costs, fees and / or related expenses incurred to participate in the Contest and to claim, redeem, collect or use any of the Prizes shall be borne solely by the winner and shall not be the responsibility of the Organizer.

Principles and Modalities of the Contest - Entry Condition (Content)

All entries must comply with the following requirements. The Organizer shall determine compliance in accordance with these Terms & Conditions:

1. The entry produced must be created by the Participant and must not be copied, misappropriated, or falsely presented as the Participant’s work. The Participant must be the sole entrant; team and / or group registration is strictly prohibited. Each entry must comply with the technical requirements indicated on the Site.
2. Each entry must not infringe or violate the rights of any third party, including intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, publicity, image / likeness, or other proprietary rights. Without the appropriate authorization, an entry must not include any third-party music, photographs, videos, logos, trademarks, or other protected materials.

If any person other than the Participant appears or is identifiable in the entry, records or produces the entry, or otherwise contributes to creation and / or development, it is the sole responsibility of the Participant to obtain the prior written consent and waiver of all rights (to the extent permitted by applicable law) relating thereto by such persons.

The Organizer reserves the right to require the Participant to submit satisfactory proof of the required consent or waiver before confirming the Participant’s eligibility or awarding or releasing any prize. Failure to provide such proof within the period specified by the Organizer may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize.

1. Any entry must not:

1. have been copied, misappropriated, or falsely presented online or through any other medium as the Participant’s original work;
2. contain prohibited, inappropriate, offensive, discriminatory, violent, unlawful or otherwise objectionable content, or any material that is contrary to good morals and / or regulations*, or unfit for publication to a general audience (e.g., pornographic images, nudity, obscenity, violence and / or hate speech);
3. disparage, defame, or misrepresent the Organizer, WD-40 Company, their respective affiliates, products, personnel, or harm in any way their goodwill and the commercial reputation;
4. promote or encourage unlawful conduct, substance misuse, dangerous behavior, or any activity that may cause harm to persons or property;
5. depict any act, situation, or product use that may endanger or adversely affect a person’s health, safety and / or physical integrity;
6. consist primarily of a staged or fabricated photomontage that does not depict an actual repair or restoration project undertaken by the Participant;
7. display, advertise, endorse and / or promote products competing with WD-40 products;
8. depict any WD-40 product being used in a misleading, unsafe, unlawful or unintended manner; and
9. be unrelated to the theme, objectives or requirements of the Contest.

The Organizer may review and verify any entry’s compliance with these Terms & Conditions. The Organizer may reject, remove, or disqualify any entry that does not comply with the Contest requirements.

 

Rights of the Organizer

1. The Organizer shall reserve the right to review and vary the winner-selection process with prior notice and approval of the FDA; provided that any material modification shall be announced to the Participants in advance. The judges’ decision is final and binding, and no correspondence regarding the results will be entertained, except where necessary to address a legitimate inquiry concerning compliance with the Terms & Conditions.

 

1. Each Participant consents to the collection, right to use, processing and / or disclosure by the Organizer of the Participant’s personal information in accordance with the Privacy Notice (below).

 

1. If the Organizer is unable to contact a winner because the information provided is incomplete, inaccurate, or no longer valid, the Organizer shall make reasonable attempts to notify the winner using the available contact details. If the winner fails to respond or provide the required information and documents within 7 days from the date of notification, the winner may be disqualified and the prize forfeited.

 

1. The Organizer shall not be held liable for any delay, loss, or damage caused by a third-party courier or service provider, circumstances beyond the Organizer’s reasonable control, or the winner’s failure to provide complete and accurate delivery information.

 

1. To the extent permitted by law, the Organizer shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from a winner’s misuse, unauthorized alteration, or failure to follow the applicable instructions for the prize.

 

The Organizer may require Participants and winners to provide reasonable proof of identity, age, eligibility, and Philippine residence for purposes of verifying compliance with these Terms & Conditions. Any verification shall be conducted in accordance with the Contest privacy notice and applicable data protection laws. A participant who knowingly provides false, fraudulent, or materially misleading information may be disqualified.

 

Intellectual Property Rights

1. By submitting an entry, each Participant grants the Organizer, WD-40 Company, and their respective related companies, representatives, and assigns a non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable license, to use, exhibit, reproduce, distribute, publish, display, communicate to the public, broadcast, make available, edit, translate, combine with other materials, create derivative works from, and / or otherwise use and exploit the entry, in whole or in part, in any media or format now known or later discovered, for purposes relating to the Contest and the advertising, promotion, publicity, marketing, and legitimate business activities of the Organizer, WD-40 Company, and their respective products and services, without further notice and / or compensation of any kind to the Participant.

 

1. The Participant irrevocably consents, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to the Organizer, WD-40 Company, and their authorised parties adapting, editing, translating, cropping, combining, adding to, removing from, or otherwise modifying the entry, and to doing or omitting any act in relation to the entry that might otherwise infringe the Participant’s moral rights. The Participant waives moral rights to the fullest extent permitted by law.

 

1. The Participant shall, upon reasonable request and without further compensation, execute documents and take actions reasonably necessary to confirm, perfect, record, or enforce the rights granted under these Terms & Conditions.

 

1. The Participant represents and warrants that the Participant owns or controls all rights necessary to submit the entry and grant the rights set out above; that the entry and its authorised use will not infringe any intellectual property, privacy, publicity, image, confidentiality, contractual, or other third-party right; and that all information and permissions provided are complete, accurate, valid, and documented. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Participant shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Organizer, WD-40 Company, and their respective related companies and representatives, from and against any claim, liability, loss, damage, penalty, cost, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or relating to the entry, any breach of these representations, warranties, or obligations, or the authorised use of the entry. The Organizer may reject, remove, suspend use of, or disqualify any entry where it reasonably suspects non-compliance, without prejudice to any other right or remedy.

 

1. All intellectual property rights in the Contest, the Site, the official Contest logo, WD-40® names and marks, promotional materials, graphics, software, databases, and other materials supplied or made available by the Organizer, WD-40 Company, or their licensors remain vested in their respective owners. Except for the limited right to use the official Contest logo expressly granted in these Terms & Conditions, no Participant acquires any right, title, or interest in such materials, and no such material may be copied, extracted, modified, reproduced, distributed, or otherwise used without the relevant owner’s prior written consent.

Compliance with the Rules of the Contest - Fraud

1. Participation in this Contest constitutes the Participant’s full, complete and unreserved acceptance of these rules, including amendments validly made and approved, where required by the FDA. For material amendments and those made to apply retroactively in a manner that may prejudice the Participants, prior notification will be made.
2. A Participant must provide complete and accurate information reasonably required for registration, eligibility verification, notification, and prize fulfilment. A material falsehood, fraudulent submission, impersonation, or failure to correct materially incomplete or inaccurate information within a reasonable period specified by the Organizer may result in disqualification or prize forfeiture.
3. The Participants authorize all reasonable checks concerning their identity and contact details conducted by the Organizer within the framework of this Contest and in accordance with the Privacy Notice.
4. The Organizer may reject an entry, disqualify a Participant, or withhold, forfeit, or re-award a prize if, the Participant is ineligible or has breached these Terms & Conditions.
5. If fraud, tampering, technical manipulation, or other circumstances materially compromise the integrity or proper administration of the Contest, the Organizer may suspend, modify, or cancel all or part of the Contest, subject to prior FDA approval where required and appropriate notice to Participants.
6. Any fraud, attempted fraud, automated or duplicate submission intended to circumvent the rules, vote or score manipulation, falsification of documents, impersonation, interference with the Site, or other tampering may result in disqualification, prize forfeiture, recovery of any prize improperly obtained, and referral to the appropriate authorities or pursuit of available legal remedies.
7. The Organizer is the sole decision maker for the exclusion or disqualification of the Participants concerned with regard to the information in its possession. In the event of a sanction or complaint, Participants must provide proof that they have not violated or breached these Terms & Conditions.
8. The Organizer may decline to publish, may remove, or may require correction of an entry that violates these Terms & Conditions. A decision not to publish an entry does not, by itself, determine ownership of or liability for the entry.

Privacy Notice

1. WD-40 Company, Herco Trading Inc., and any of their holding, subsidiary or related companies, service providers, agents and contractors who provide administrative and business support to us and act on our behalf (collectively, “Organizer”, “us”, “we” or “our”) value your privacy and comply with the Data Privacy Act and its implementing rules and regulations.
2. By ticking the button in the Registration page and participating in the Contest, you consent to the processing by us of your personal information provided during registration, entry submission, verification, judging, notification, and prize fulfilment. This may include your name, age or date of birth, Philippine residence, contact details, social media account or identifier, entry and related photographs or videos, and verification documents.
3. We process your personal information only as reasonably necessary to administer the Contest; verify identity, age, residence, eligibility, entry authenticity, and compliance; communicate with Participants; select, notify, and verify winners; award and deliver prizes; prevent or investigate fraud; respond to complaints; comply with legal and regulatory obligations; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We may also use your personal information for purposes of contacting and sending marketing and promotional information or materials about our products, services, any promotions, events or contests. Processing is based, as applicable, on your consent, steps necessary to administer your participation under these Terms & Conditions, compliance with law, and the Organizer’s legitimate interests.
4. We may publish in the Contest Site, the Organizer’s official social media pages, and/or other channels your name or other personal information when you become a winner in the Contest or participate in our events, without compensation, for advertising and publicity purposes. Publication will be limited to information reasonably necessary for those purposes.
5. Any government‑issued identification collected during claiming of prizes shall be used exclusively for verification and prize fulfilment.

1. Your personal information will be kept confidential, protected by appropriate organizational, technical, and physical security measures, and permanently deleted after completion of prize distribution, unless a longer retention period is necessary or required by applicable law.
2. If an entry contains or identifies another person, the Participant must inform that person of the intended collection, submission, publication, and other uses described in this Privacy Notice and must obtain any consent or release required by applicable law before submission.
3. The Contest is open only to persons aged 18 years or older. Participants must not submit an entry that identifies a minor unless the minor’s parent or legal guardian has received this Privacy Notice and has provided the prior written consent and release required for the minor’s appearance and the contemplated processing. The Organizer may reject or remove an entry that does not satisfy this requirement.

 

1. We may disclose personal information, only to the extent necessary for the stated purposes, to website, hosting, cloud, communications, judging, verification, fulfilment, delivery, professional-advisory, and security service providers; and competent government agencies, regulators, courts, or law-enforcement authorities where required or permitted by law. Recipients acting on the Organizer’s instructions are bound by appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

 

1. Subject to the conditions and exceptions under applicable law, you may request access to or a copy of your personal data; correction of inaccurate or incomplete data; erasure or blocking; restriction or objection to processing; data portability; and information on the source, recipients, and manner of processing. You may also withdraw consent, lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission, and claim damages where legally available. Information collected from you is subject to WD-40 Company’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, available at https://www.wd40.com/privacy and https://www.wd40.com/terms-of-use, respectively. By ticking the button in the Registration page and participating in the Contest, you consent to WD-40 Company’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.  

Terms and Conditions

1. The WD-40 Philippines "REPAIR CHALLENGE": Terms & Conditions, may be amended from time to time, as may be approved by the FDA, and shall prevail over any provisions or representations contained in any other promotional or advertising material of the Contest. Participants are highly advised to visit the Site from time to time to ensure that the Participants are aware of any updates and changes made.

The Organizer shall indemnify and hold harmless WD-40 Company and its related companies against and from any and all claims, actions, proceedings, liabilities, losses, damages, and penalties, arising out of or relating to the Organizer’s administration, promotion, or conduct of the Contest; any breach by the Organizer of these Terms & Conditions, any applicable agreement, or any representation, warranty, or obligation relating to the Contest; any violation by the Organizer of applicable laws, regulations, regulatory approvals, or permit requirements in connection with the Contest; any negligent, fraudulent, unlawful, or willful act or omission of the Organizer; any Contest materials, advertisements, representations, or communications prepared, published, distributed, or authorized by the Organizer; or any personal injury, death, or loss of or damage to property caused by an act or omission of the Organizer or any person for whom it is legally responsible in connection with the Contest.

This Contest is being conducted pursuant to FDA Advisory No. 2026-0706, FDA License to Operate No. CCHUHSRR-NCR-HUHSI/W-2907 and FDA DTN No. 20260625102422.
